Dr. Fazlur Rahman received his B.E. (Electrical) degree from
Bangalore University, India in 1985, M.Tech
(Instrumentation) degree from Indian Institute of
Science, India in 1989 and Ph.D. degree from School of
Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore in 1995. From 1985
to 1987 he worked as a graduate trainee engineer in a
private PCB manufacturing industry. Worked at Singapore
Polytechnic from 1995 to 2021 as Senior Lecturer in the
School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He was
actively involved in teaching, management and R&D work.
Was technology leader for Instrumentation & Photonics
Group and Manager of the Post Diploma Courses. He was
attached to the MIRTHE, Princeton University, USA for a
short period to carry out research work.
He has published several papers in international
journals and conference proceedings. His research
interests include intelligent instrumentation,
non-linear control and machine learning. He has vast
teaching and training experience in the area of
instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, process
control, data analytics and design thinking. He has
worked in several consultancy projects related to
technical education for ministry of Education, Mongolia
and Brunei. Was Member of the Board of Examiners, for
several Indian universities and have reviewed several
PhD thesis. He is a senior member of IEEE, Life member
of the Instrument Society of India. He has served as
Secretary of Industrial Electronics Chapter, IEEE
Singapore Section. He also received several R&D awards
while working at Singapore Polytechnic.
